Singer-songwriter Maseta brings a diarist's eye for the everyday to Indonesia's music scene. The identity of his work is specificity — vivid, plainspoken lyrics that pull listeners into the exact texture of a young-adult relationship, its small prayers, mismatched routines, and affectionate frustrations, across a sound that drifts from laid-back to synth-driven uptempo pop. Born Muhammad Maseta Pratama and hailing from East Jakarta, he first built his catalog independently with the mini-albums Maseta (2019) and Perfect Weather (2020) before contributing "Takjil" to Sun Eater's Sounds Cute, Might Delete Later compilation. What makes Maseta distinctive is how naturally he slots into that Sun Eater family — the same label home as Hindia, .Feast, Lomba Sihir, and Rayhan Noor — as one of its freshest storytelling voices.
Maseta's credibility as an artist has grown steadily on his own terms. Singles like "Agustus Lagi" showed his range, trading a laid-back mood for kinetic synths and drums to capture the giddy rush of young love, while his full-fledged debut on the Sun Eater roster, "MARAH-MARAH," arrived in early 2025 as the lead single for an EP, produced by his idol Enrico Octaviano of Lomba Sihir and crowned with a wailing saxophone climax. He's also stretched beyond his own songs, serving as music director for the musical theater production Mulang Ka Asal. However, Maseta never treats these ordinary romantic moments as too small to sing about — allowing simple lines like a wish for two schedules to finally align to carry real tenderness, and making the mundane feel like exactly the thing worth writing down.
