Lalahuta

Pop band Lalahuta brings a warm, hard-earned sincerity to Indonesia's music scene. The identity of their work is relatability — simple songs about love, longing, and the small dramas of young hearts, delivered with a soulful, easy-listening touch that folds in shades of R&B, funk, and jazz. What makes Lalahuta distinctive is where they came from: a Jakarta band that started out as session players and café performers, moving from gig to gig before breaking into the national industry with their own original songs. Now built around vocalist Kevin Widaya alongside Beno Louloulia, Allain Hizkia, and Boni Eko, the group has survived more than a decade and several lineup changes, holding on to a band ethos in an era increasingly dominated by soloists.

Lalahuta's credibility grows more reliable both on stage and in the studio. Their catalog of hits — "Tunggu Apa Lagi," which earned them an Anugerah Musik Indonesia nomination in 2018, followed by "Buat Apa Mencoba," "Tak Pernah Salah," and later singles like "123" and "Radar" — turned plainspoken feelings into songs that fans, affectionately called Sobathuta, could see themselves in. They've also paid tribute to their roots through the Lalahuta Sings Indonesian Hits project, reworking beloved local classics in their own soulful colors. However, Lalahuta never treats consistency as coasting — happily playing everything from big festivals to school graduation parties, and insisting on keeping their music young and close to the listeners who grew up with it.
