Singer-songwriter Adikara Fardy brings an old soul to today's popular music scene. The identity of his work is his voice — a warm, classic croon steeped in jazz and swing — making Adikara a distinctive throwback vocalist in an era of contemporary pop and R&B. Not only in his solo projects, but he has also carried this identity into the works of established names, from pop icon Melly Goeslaw to the legacy of composer Candra Darusman.
Adikara became recognized through cover videos he uploaded to social media, which eventually drew the attention of Trinity Optima Production. The jazz and swing of the '40s, and the recording craft of crooners like Frank Sinatra, inspire his phrasing and arrangements. Now, Adikara is involved in various music projects. His solo works, such as his debut single "Pesona Cinta" and the tender single "Sayup Menjauh," wrap introspective romance in a light-jazz touch. His concept EP Love & Imagination revived '40s-era swing across six live-recorded songs telling a single bittersweet story. His voice regenerated a classic when he joined Chaseiro All Stars, the new-generation lineup of the legendary '70s group Chaseiro. His character honored the past when he covered "Detik Waktu" for the tribute to Candra Darusman's catalog. Last but not least, his gift for duet is heard through collaborations with the likes of Mawar de Jongh and Aimee Saras.
Adikara's credibility as a vocalist grows more reliable both on stage and in the studio. Adikara, with his voice, wades through various nuances of jazz, swing, and pop. However, he doesn't treat these vintage styles as museum pieces — allowing his phrasing and warmth to make a piece of work feel timeless rather than dated.
