PELTERAS

Pelteras is a Jakarta-based post-punk/deathrock band formed in 2016, known for crafting haunting soundscapes and introspective lyrics rooted in urban anxieties. With their brooding guitar lines, throbbing bass, and evocative vocals, Pelteras channels the raw energy of classic post-punk while grounding their themes in the chaotic, bureaucratic, and often isolating experience of living in modern-day Jakarta. Their debut album Peranjakan (2023) weaves a poetic yet critical narrative about the city, identity, and the emotional dissonance of navigating everyday life in a rapidly changing urban landscape. Singing entirely in Indonesian, the band offers a rare blend of atmospheric gothic moods with local relevance, establishing themselves as a compelling voice in Southeast Asia’s alternative music scene.
